Dr. Huang Zhiwei
Associate Professor
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huang is an expert in the field of biomedical optics and bioimaging. His research interests include biomedical optical spectroscopy and imaging in biomedicine, advanced fiber-optic endoscopic imaging, coherent Raman scattering microscopy, multimodal nonlinear optical microscopy, and nonlinear fluorescence lifetime imaging.

Xin Le
Xin Le received a Bachelor's degree from the Beijing Institute of Technology and a Master's degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at NUS. His research focuses on the development and application of coherent Raman scattering microscopy for biological and biomedical imaging.

Fang Tinghe
I received my BEng (2022) and MEng (2024) in Biomedical Engineering from Beihang University (China).
My research interests lie in applying machine learning and computational methods to biomedical imaging for higher performance in practice. My experience includes developing spectrum and image processing algorithms for stimulated Raman scattering microscopy. I am currently developing stimulated Brillouin scattering microscopic techniques.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, running, and swimming.

Bao Mengyu
I received my Bachelor's degree from the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2021, and my Master's degree from the Beijing Institute of Technology in 2024. I am currently a PhD student at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where my research focuses on stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) imaging and multiphoton imaging techniques.
I love studying new things and exploring emerging technologies in biomedical optics.

Chen Zhilin
I graduated with a BEng degree from Northeastern University (China) in 2022 and received my MSc degree from Heidelberg University in 2024.
My research interests include surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) and deep learning for biomedical image processing. Currently, I am involved in projects related to wide-field fluorescence imaging.
Outside of research, I enjoy hiking, cycling, and exploring new technologies in scientific imaging.

Li Rongxuan
I graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2024 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) with Honors. After graduation, I worked for one year as a research assistant, focusing on applications of nonlinear optical imaging modalities, as well as developing deep learning–based post-processing methods such as image denoising and resolution enhancement. I am now pursuing my PhD.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, gaming, and trying out new food places.

Cai Yigen
I received my BEng from SCAU (2022) and MEng from SCNU (2025) in Optoelectronic Information Engineering.
My research focuses on applying metalenses to biomedical endoscopy to improve imaging performance and expand functionality. My experience includes developing an extended depth-of-field metalens-based photoacoustic endoscopy system and an ultrathin optical coherence tomography catheter capable of imaging in narrow and tortuous anatomical regions.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, swimming, and playing badminton.

Tong Xiaoxi
I received my BEng from CJLU (2022) and MEng from DUT (2025) in Optoelectronic Information Engineer, my experience includes single pixel imaging and ghost imaging. I am currently a PhD student at the NUS, my research will focus on stimulated Raman scattering microscopy and super resolution imaging techniques.
In my free time, I enjoy reading and listening to music.

Carmen, Ka Man Yu
I graduated with a BEng degree from National University of Singapore in 2022. Currently, I am working as a research engineer and pursuing part-time Master’s in engineering. My research interests include Raman spectroscopy technique for optical diagnosis and detection of human diseases. Outside of research, I enjoy bouldering and casual hiking.
